Fun Friday- Lines and Drag Marks

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!
I think I'm slowly getting back on track!! 3 posts from me this week!!
Today I have a fun mix and match mani to show you. To achieve this look, I used the following:

China Glaze's Flip Flop Fantasy and Aquadelic
Not in picture: Color Club- Beyond the Mistletoe and Black on the drag mani.

Yes yes, I know I'm using summer colours...
But really...why should I put them away just because the weather is ucky?
These two are my FAVE...so they're here to STAY!
:P

Ever since I saw Denise @ DEEZ NAILS' drag mani I've been dying to recreate that look on myself.
She's so pro at doing them, so make sure you head on over to her page to experience the awesomness.
It still doesn't look as good as hers...but I'll get there...I think...haha

I added some Halographic sparkles (Beyond the Misteltoe) on the drag mani, and I'm liking it!

Meanwhile....My left hand....
I wanted to perfect the drag mani so I practiced on my left hand, and then I realized...
My left hand nails are now NOTICEABLY shorter than my right hand!!!!!!!!!
Because I'm left handed, my nails on my left hand take a beating :(

RL

I think I'll file my right hand down to match the length on the left. But I like the length on my right hand better... *sadness*

ANYHOO! That's all for me today!

Have a FANTASTIC weekend, loves!

Swatched- OPI Goldeneye

Hello beautiful peoples!
Hope you're all having a great Thursday. One more day 'til the weekend is here!
...so hang in there!

Today I have a swatch of OPI- Goldeneye from the Skyfall collection.
I never thought I was much of an OPI girl, but it seems that my collection of OPI is getting bigger and bigger!

I first saw a swatch of Goldeneye by Mary @ Swatch and Learn...and I knew that I needed it in my life!
Goldeneye has a clear base, and is packed with a generous amount of gold foil specks, mixed with some gold sparkles. It takes about 3 coats to completely cover the surface.
To my surprise, the formula was not as thick as I thought it would be, which is AWESOME!
Because nobody likes a goopy polish...

It is very attention grabbing, and the way it reflects under the light is just stunning.
I can see MANY nail art designs to be done with this one!!

Here you can really see the foil effect!

So what's the verdict?
LOVE.

and now I want the rest of the collection....
Hope you liked today's swatch! Will you going out to a bottle of your own?

Have a nice day, lovelies!

Geometric Fun with Cosmetic Arts

Hello there!!
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Mine was pretty eventful so I thought I'd show you my weekend mani!

This look features a very yummy forest green by Cosmetic Arts. I bought this at ROSS a while back.
This colour is perfect for Fall.

I did find this polish a little on the runny side, a little hard to control.
But the coverage was good, it reaches complete opacity at 2 coats if you apply carefully.

I added gold triangles on the fingers with this forest green colour on. They accent each other quite well!
PS- I am IN LURVE with my ring finger...I think I want to do another mani with that design on ALL fingers!

I was all going for looking fierce and stuff, until a friend pointed out that they look "Christmasy"
....... -____- .......

Also...this is random, but I never thought I'd have this much trouble drawing triangles on nails with my non-dominant hand.
But I struggled though it, and both hands turned out okay!

That's it for me today, hope you enjoyed today's mani.

Have a wonderful day, lovers!

Mehndi Inspired Mani + Nail School Update

HELLO LOVES!!
It's been a week since we last saw each other! I hope your week was awesome.
Today I have a Mehndi inspired mani for you.

What does Mehndi look like?

(source: Henna Designs)

According to Wikipedia:
Mehndi, also known as Henna tattoos, is another form of temporary tattoo. Coming from a south Asian tradition, henna uses a paste made from the powdered leaves of the Henna plant, Lawsonia inermis. Traditional henna is drawn in delicate patterns on the hands and feet, but modern henna is applied in all sorts of designs anywhere on the body. Henna tattoos can last days to over a month depending on application and aftercare.

I used Orly's Ingenue and white acrylic paint for this look.
I was trolling the discontinued bin at my local beauty supply store the other day and found this pretty little thing...I was never really an Orly fan...because for whatever reason, I always seem to end up with a bottle with crappy brush...but when I saw this I knew I had to rescue it from being sent back to factory.
LOL at least that's what I believe they do...yes...let's just go with that!

Surprisingly, the brush wasn't faulty!!
This polish applied smoothly unlike all my other Orly polishes.
Ingue is a wine coloured sheer polish packed with fine gold sparkles.

Unfortunately, this polish didn't look so great on me. But I would imagine it look amazing on someone with a lighter complexion?
Although I thought this polish for a Mehndi inspired mani was appropriate, because the Indian culture is full of beautiful, rich colours such as this polish.

I know this mani is no where near the amount of details on an actual Mehndi...but I wanted to see if it was doable, and of course it was!
I think I will attempt this again and include more details, with a darker colour.

:)

Hope you enjoyed this mani!

*Nail School Update*

So it's been officially a month yesterday since I started Nail School!
I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not, but I feel like I've been in school longer than that?! haha
Here's a brief summary of what's happened thus far:

We had homework everyday...and tests every OTHER day....

We had to do crosswords and word searches, and I discovered that I look like 12.....still.

We learned how to properly set up our manicure station, and I experienced my first MAN-icure

...and of course, we learned about properly disinfecting implements...so important!
This week, I performed my first official manicure for a walk-in client while the class (11 people) observed. The client was nice enough to tip me $2 dolla!! I'm RICH!! :D

Lastly, just yesterday, I did a manicure on the set of hands that matters most! My MAMA <3

That's all for me today! Sorry for the photo-bomb!
Hope you all have an awesome weekend! <3

Chevrons with China Glaze White on White

Hey Lovers!!
It's been ages since I last blogged...and by ages I really mean a week...
I've missed you so <3

Today I have a Chevron mani to show you.
This colour combo reminds me of the White Power Ranger:

He's my favourite :D

I used China Glaze's White on White as base, and acrylic paint for the rest.
I got this polish as a part of my kit from school...

This is a simple mani...not too much detail but just enough to catch someone's eyes!
:)

Have a great day, my loves!
