Vacation Nails: Instant Galaxy

Good morning friends!
You might not know this, but I'm going to a place FAH FAH away... (well not really)
BEHOLD! My vacation nails!!

When I'm on vacation, the last thing I want to worry about is breaking a nail.
So the first thing I did was cut them. (PS- wow, I have child size nails)

The next thing is....I need something that'll last.
So I went with the following combination:
Zoya's Cynthia, and NYC's Starry Silver Glitter

Okay, can we talk about Cynthia for a second?
It looks like black...but it's actually a dark teal....and it's SOOO SHINY!!

I mentioned in my other post that I bought the NYC polish at Rite Aid for 99 cts!
This polish is packed with awesome glittery goodness...
Look at the glitters!!

Okay, so yes. This is my vacation nails.
It looks like a galaxy mani...without all the work lol

So that's it for the next week and a half guys!
I'll report back if these last throughout my vacation! :)

See you when I get back, lovers!

Do you do your nails when you're on vacation?

The Ugly Sisters and Giving Thanks!

HAI Friends!! My hand is SO MUCH better now!
I can see all 4 knuckles!! :D Thanks everyone for the well wishes.

I felt like drawing faces yesterday, so I ended up with these....
They were totally random...and free-handedly achieved with these:

I named the pinky one Gertrude because it's ugly....and so it's
It's probably not an everyday wear kindda mani, but I had fun drawing them haha
Here's one more look at the ugly sisters:

I'd like to take a moment to show you some things I won from some awesome bloggers!!

First up, I got MariJo's 200 followers giveaway.

Hello lovers!
I originally had planned on doing a mani on Sunday so I could blog about it today...
But then THIS happened...

My left thumb's been hurting for the past 3 weeks from crossfit.
I think it's from the medicine balls we've been throwing at the wall...I might have caught it the wrong way
And being a lefty, I use that hand for EVERYTHING!

It was really bothering me last week so I decided to go see a Chinese Massage Therapist
So that's what it looked like when I got home on Saturday.

A drumstick. Chicken tenders. Chicken McNuggets...okay I'll stop.
Needless to say it was painful, and swollen from all the massaging...

I woke up Sunday morning to THIS:

You guys...I have sausage hand....sausage fingers, and sausage patty....
I couldn't touch my thumb to my pinky....and I officially lost sight of my knuckles.
It was THAT swollen...

So I'm sorry friends, I won't be able to paint my nails for a while...

Sausage hand, signing out.

Fun with Cynthia

Hello lovers! Happy Friday!
The weekend is finally here...

Today I have for you a mani featuring Zoya's Cynthia

I've been looking for a colour like this for quite some time...

From the website:
Zoya nail polish in Cynthia ca be best described as: A smoky, blackened peacock teal with soft warm undertones. A very uncommon shade of blue for a subtle but funky look

I knew I had to have it when I saw it on the website.
I will do a full swatch later on, but let's look at this mani first! :)

I achieved this by painting my nails with XXI's nude polish as base.
Then I free handed the "V"s with Cynthia
Look how shiny it is....

At first, it looked like this

But my OCD kicked in, and decided that the V's weren't even....
and I wanted them all to look like my pointing finger so I used a tiny brush and put on more nude polish
Yea, the lines now look better, but the nude polish started bubbling...

Anyhoo, several top coats later....I was able to smooth it out...
still not as smooth as originally applied but tolerable.

This mani is simple yet it contains just enough complexity to satisfy the creative side of my brain.
I also love the colour combination...
Dark Teal and Nude make a good team =D

Have a beautiful weekend, friends!!

Guh.....I.....I just can't.... *dies*
Today is the perfect day to show you my new found love...
Words can't describe how AMAZING this polish is.
YES, I'm talking about Zoya's Savita

Ladies, you need this in your collection.

This polish has a matte finish.
It contains the kind of shimmer that, even when matte, shines like diamonds in the sky.

*photo bomb*

I've been running around flapping my arms back and forth...
because I can't handle the gorgeousness coming out of this bottle.
You guys, I'm so in love.

The only thing with this polish though....
I put this on on Sunday, and this is what it looked like on Monday afternoon

I washed my hands, and moisturized a couple of times, and this was the outcome...
Maybe it's because I didn't put a base coat on (i got too excited, k?)
Do any of you have the same experience?

Regardless of it all, I'm still VERY impressed with this polish.
I sense a load of nail art to be had with this polish....

Dear Zoya, I'm in love <3

oh and PS- Happy Valentines Day, lovers!! =D

1 Accent Nail Worn 3 Ways- Schmalentines Edition

Wow, I feel like I haven't blogged for SUCH a long time...
Oh wait, that's because I haven't....I'm sorry lovers. I've missed you dearly!!
Today, I have for you some Schmalentines design.
I was really digging this accent nail I had on so I decided to leave them on throughout the week.

First up, I had this:

I wasn't exactly in love with it, there were smudges ALL OVER THE PLACE!
But they reminded me of those bouncy beach balls LOL
So I kept them on...

Then, the next day...I couldn't WAIT to take them off.
I went with a simpler design this time. I actually quite dig this mani.

I shall call this, Infinite Love
I drew on the squiggly line with acrylic paint.
BY THE WAY! I bought acrylic paint....I still don't know how to use it properly on my nails though.

Finally, I settled with this for the weekend.
I really like how this turned out! Red and Black make such a great combo.

So dark, and so yummy. LOL
It  kind of reminds me of the Queen of Hearts

Thought I'd give this Valentines a twist.
None of that cutesy stuff this year...LOL

I achieved all the looks above with Revlon's Lunar, Red Hot Tamale
Also white acrylic paint and nail art polish.

Tomorrow, I have a post about this polish I'm head over heels about.
Hope you liked today's mani!!

Have a great Monday, everyone!
