Neon and Metallic Tribal aka. FURRS

Hello lovers!
HAPPY FRIDAY!!! We made it!!!!!!!

I always try to have fun mani's for the weekend, and here is this week's weekend edition.
I love these tribal prints...and the neon colours really just are the cherries on top.

To achieve the above, I used the following:

Magical Nail- Black, Metallic Silver, Brass, Neon Green, Neon Pink, (Sort of) Neon Blue
It sucks that they don't have names...and how come only one nail gets to be magical?

Because the designs are do detailed, when you take a close-up shot of them...
you really see the imperfections. =(
Plus I had to cut my nails short because of my eczema...resulting in not a lot of space to work with.
How tragic.

Regardless, I like them! The designs on every nail is different, and I love that about this mani.

I'm feeling pretty FURRS (fierce) today with these nails....
So furrs, I feel like I need to go out there and flip some tables...or something LOL

*PS*
I changed my domain name to rrrawr-nailed.blogspot.ca
The previous one was just too long, and I couldn't even remember it....
Being the SMRT me, I got excited and changed it without telling anyone...
so now if people bookmarked it, they won't be able to find it =( I'm SORRY!!!!

So to my imaginary bookmarkers, I hope you find your way back to me.
I shall be here waiting...with open arms....

Anyway, that's it for me today. Short and FURRS!

Have a fun-tastic weekend my lovelies!!

Leaves and Petals

Good morning my loves, and a very happy Wednesday to you.
The week is half over! Two more days until FREEDOM!!!!

Today I have this semi elegant design on my nails. I was reading through a magazine during the day and saw this colour scheme on an interior design...thought I'd give it a shot....on my nails.
The leaves and petals...they kind of came up randomly....
I often just do what my head tells me to do at the moment.

I used Revlon's Smoky Canvas...

I can't get enough of this colour. I'm actually thinking about painting my house this beigey-grey colour.
Anyway, back to the polish- It applies smoothly, and is opaque in ONE coat!!! JUST ONE!!

Then I added on the details with white acrylic paint (+ purple on the thumb).
I'm still experimenting with them...but the outcome of these turned out quite satisfying.

This is subtle enough for me to wear to work...I think.
I had a full on glitter-tastic mani last week, and my boss looked at them and *shuddered
LOL

Well, that's it for me today! I hope you enjoyed this mani as much as I did making it.
Have a wonderful day, m'loves!!

Random Purple & Silver

Hello, gang!! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
Today's design is completely random, I was just adding the details as I went...

It looks like a dress design, semi futuristic.

I used Sinful Colors- Let's Talk. It's this shimmery purple, mega rich, mega pretty!
I started the mani with just the tip...then just went along with what felt right with my silver and purple nail art polish. I think it's safe to say that I'm obsessed with purple...lol

...and that's all I have to say about today's mani...
Until next time, lovers!!

Hunger Games Inspired Mani- Effie Trinket

HAPPY FRIDAY LOVERS!!!

Who else is excited about the movie coming out today?!
Today I have a Hunger Games inspired mani. Specifically by Effie Trinket.
I haven't seen the movie yet, but oh my, just her screen shots alone is jaw dropping.

Check out her lashes!!!!

To achieve the above look, I used the following:
Urban Outfitters- Bandeau
Revlon- Passion Fruit
"5 STARS"- Gold and Red Sparkles (no name)

I picked up the 5 STARS polish in a beauty store in little Saigon in San Francisco
get this...it was $0.50!!!!
I picked it up because it was...well shiny....and cheap....HAHA can't go wrong there.
Then I just realized that it sort of looks like China Glaze's Hunger Games collection: Electrify
 Double score!

Now on to the mani....
I did a purple gradient on the nail with Passion Fruit and Bandeau, and drew on some black lines to mimic her awesome lashes....the lines didn't turn out as nice as I hoped though :(

Then I dabbed on the gold and red sparkles on the corner, and dotted them on the rest of the nail.

Well that's it for today! Hope you enjoy this mani as much as I did doing it!

How many of you are going to brave the crowd this weekend to see the movie?

Have a great weekend, loverlies!

Fine....I'll do a St. Patty's mani....

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
Hope you're all having a wonderful day. I waited a whole week for this day...lol
Today I have for you a St. Patty's mani...
I'm not very big on doing festive nail designs...just because....I'm cool like that
>=]

But I figured I'd give it a try, hope you enjoy it!

To achieve the look above, I used the following:
Revlon's Copper Penny and Fashionista, and Gold and Lime Green nail art polishes

Look at Fashionista!!!!!!!!!! This is another one I picked up on my SF trip.
I've had my eye on this for a while....
Rite Aid had a sale on Revlon polishes and it was $4.99 + 40% off.
Naturally I did a victory dance right then and there.

I ended up doing my right hand TWICE, because I wasn't happy with the way it turned out the first time.
But my left hand turned out good! Which is surprising because I'm left handed.

I used the smallest dotting tool for the shamrocks.
Basically I just used the heart technique and drew four of them. Super simple!

Yes I know, my shamrocks are missing stems.
That is because...I...didn't want to draw them on, I like the way they look without stems.
I wanted to go for a more subtle look. So here we are!!

I've never tried green beer before...I don't know if I'll ever do it either LOL
Anyway, hope you enjoyed my St. Patrick's Mani.

Have a good weekend, my loverlies!

Purple Fizz

Hello my lovelies!! Hope you're all having a wonderful Thursday!

This is the mani I have for you today...
With the weather being so gross lately, I decided to add a little *fizz* to cheer me up.

I used the following to achieve this look:
Urban Outfitter's Bandeau, and a silver nail art polish.

 Bandeau
This colour is....*guh*.....so pigmented, and so electric.
I took this the other day (excuse the rain drops)...I just couldn't stop staring at it.
I bought this on my SF trip, for $5 USD
I first tried this on here in Canada...But I didn't get it....What was wrong with me? ...I'll never know...

The only thing about this polish is that it dries Matte, and it doesn't seem to have much of a coverage?
It takes about 3 coats for it to become opaque, and even THEN, it still doesn't distribute evenly.
Oh well, for the colour, I will slap on as many coats as I need LOL

This bottle was hard to hold for photograph...HAHA it's in a really awkward shape.
Look how velvety the silver sits on the purple!!
BAHHHH...I like it!

These V's...
They make such a nice accent on a simple manicure.
It definitely adds that instant "umph" to the solid colour.

This also looks like a design a superhero would wear.
Hmm...I smell a superhero series coming along?????????

Anyhow, that's it for today!
Hope you enjoyed the mani as much as I did doing it!

:)

TAG, You're IT!

Hello my lovelies!!
It's so good to be finally back...blogging that is! The worst part about going on vacation is coming back...
and boy did it take me a while to get caught up with everything!
Anyhoo, HERE I AM! Back on the grind! :D

Well it happened, my first tag!
I'm fairly new to the blogging world...and it's always exciting to encounter new things.
I was tagged by Traci at DrinkCitra! She runs an awesome nail blog!!
You should check out her blog here: http://www.drinkcitra.com/

Alright here I go!
Please be gentle with me...LOL

The Rules
Answer 10 questions
Pass it to 5 other Bloggers
Make sure the blogger you tagged knows about this

1. How many polishes do you have?
Well, my collection is definitely growing...but it is no where near 100 yet...
so...that means I'm still good right?

2. What is your favourite brand of nail polish?
Revlon. Hands down.
Being someone who's just starting out, I can't justify spending over $7/bottle.
I'm cheap like that :)

3. Do you like crackle polish or do you have it?
I bought ONE bottle when it was "THE" thing...
I used it that one time after I got it, and that was it....lol

4. What is the brand of your first nail polish?
oh gawd. That was SO long ago...I can't remember what I had for breakfast yesterday...
Nevermind my first polish.

5. If you're going to have a nail polihs line what would you name it?
Without even thinking about it, it would be:
RAWR

6. What nail polish does not compliment you?
Red....it pains me so much to say it....
but it seriously make me look like the Chinese massage parlour lady.

7. What nail polish compliments you?
I think the dark shades look great on me.
Plus, I feel like a different person when I wear dark polishes....
Am I the only one here?...maybe...

8. Name two of your nail art best-friends
Dotting Tools, and those nail art polishes

9. What was the best nail polish gift you ever received?
WELL...the past Christmas, the BF did really good
He got me endless bottles of nail art polishes and an acrylic stand for them.
I was beyond excited when I opened my presents :D

10. Make a speech thanking the blogger who gave you this tag.
First...I'd like to thank all my fans.
*oh wait*
this isn't an acceptance speech. lol

Dear DrinkCitra. Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to complete this questionnaire.
The more I answer these questions, the more I realize that perhaps I have a nail polish addiction...lol
This is my first tag for anything, and hopefully it won't be the last!
You're amazing <3
