Fierce Friday- African Tribals

FRIDAY! FRIDAY! FRIDAY!
Welcome to another Fierce Friday post! We made it, gang!

Today I'd like to share with you, my interpretation of the African Tribal Print. This is furrs, right?
It feels like I've been doing a lot of prints lately...and I'm totally loving it.
The polish used in this mani was OPI's Skulls & Glossbones, and Color Club's Wham!Pow!

I did the same thing on all 10 fingers because I really like the formality of it...
Which is weird because I'm usually pretty random with my mani's.
they look cool when you put all 10 of them together...but I can't show you that because I'm photographically challenged and also...who would press the camera button? lol

Anyhoo!! I'm really loving this design, it looks like it'd go nicely on a shirt!
I think I'll wear this ALLLLLL weekend!!

Anyhoo, that's all for me today!

Have a FANTASTIC weekend, lovers!!

RAWR Shop- Not Your Average Wedding Party

Hello my lovelies!! Today I have something special I'd like to share with you.
I was contacted by the lovely Erin last week about doing nails for a wedding party.
She mentioned that the Bride is looking for something non-traditional....and she thought of me...
<3

So I showed up last night with my kit and did the following mani's:

Nancy (the bride) came in with a game plan. I love it when someone has a clear image of what they want.
The theme colour of the wedding is shades of purple, and grey. So we decided that all girls will have manis around that colour scheme.

For Nancy, we went with a soft purple/lavender gradient, and sponged on some holographic/hexa glitter mixture.

This mani is subtle enough that won't take the attention away from the beautiful wedding dress and ring.
Yet it'll catch your eyes under the right lighting. These'll look amazing with her holding her bouquet. <3
In my opinion, she made absolutely all the right choices to go with these colours.

Next up is Erin, the Maid of Honour.
I loved this mani on her.

I called these her superhero nails.
Being the Maid of Honour, you could probably imagine the responsibility she had to take on...
So we gave her bold colour tips, with a dash of AWESOMENESS on the ring finger.

Now she can save the world!
....One bouquet at a time!

Last but not least, meet Megan (bridesmaid)

Megan is an office professional who is very good at what she does.
Since maintaining a professional image is NOT easy, we decided that we had to figure out a way for her to look Glamourously Professional!

For Megan, we went with a fade. We kept her existing nude Shellac mani and added Color Club's Platinum Records to it. She came up with this all by herself. (so proud)

and VOILA!
All three manis in one night.

The girls were saying how each of their mani's match their personalities, and I am SO happy to hear that.
Because a manicure SHOULD ALWAYS reflect your true self.
...like how mine is always loud and obnoxious...

Thank you Erin for this amazing opportunity, what an honour it was to be included in such an important event!
Wishing you guys an AWESOME wedding day this weekend.

RAWR Shop- 5 Years of Cuteness

Happy hump day, lovers and friends!!
Yesterday I brought the RAWR Shop to a very special girl who's turning 5 this weekend.

When I whipped out my kit, her eyes lit up like a Christmas tree...it was an explosion of cute.
Without any hesitation, she immediately decided that she wants PINK and GLITTER BOMBS.
Perfect.

So I layered on Color Club's Electro Candy and Claire's Candy Shop

Then we moved on to her toes:
This is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's Red Carpet, and a white nail art polish for the dots.
We had to redo this pedi several times because she was itchy....haha

Just when I thought we were done....she started mumbling and said
"what if...what if....we put all tha different colours on all of the 10 hands on my fingers"

10 hands on your fingers? I asked.

"YEA! THIS ONE AND THIS ONE AND THIS AND THIS AND THIS!!!!"
She got way more excited. hehehe

I was pretty surprised because she knew exactly what colour and design she wanted on each finger.
Yup. Young Nail Artist in training.

Her mom asked her why she didn't keep it the way it was before since it looked WAY nicer...
"But mom...I LOVE this...." She looked up with the biggest grin on her face.

How do you say no after THAT comment?????????
*melts*

THIS- is the face of a satisfied 5 year old to be.

After we were done. She said to me that she wants a different colour next year.
I'm apparently booked a year in advance for her 6th birthday. HAHA!!

Then when I packed up, she puts her hand on my kit and said:
"Aunty Winnie....can you give this to me when I'm 10? I wanna be like you"

night = MADE
...annnnnd....que heart explosion...

So here they are, her awesome everything!

Happy Birthday, pretend daughter.

NOTD- Skittle IKAT Mani

Hello lovers! Today I am very excited to show you a mani I think I'll be sporting more often.
Neon Skittle IKATs!

It looks complicated but thanks to the power of the interwebs, there are plenty of amazing tutorials available.
The one I saw was tweeted by Rie at Nails and Noms--> here
Somehow it's a lot simpler than I had imagined! YAY!!

So I took a quick look at it, and gave it my own spin.
To achieve the above look, I used the following:

Base:
OPI- Skulls & Glossbones

Skittle accents:
Color Club- Feelin Groovy, Wild Child, Electro Candy
China Glaze- Flying Dragon (!!)
NYC- Times Square

and black acrylic paint for the black outline.

I am really in love with this....
Like the Paisley print, there are so many variations of the print you can go with....so again!
The possibilities are endless

I didn't have to do much clean up with this mani....which is always a plus!
I'll definitely be RAWKING this again sometime!

Have a wonderful day, my beautifuls!

What is paisley? You know those print you see on bandanas? That's it!
(source: google)

They also look like really pretty amoebas....haha
(source: google)

Anyhoo, this mani didn't take as long as I expected it to be...so that's always a bonus!
Here's what I used as base:

Color Club- Age of Aquarius
NYC- Times Square

I bought Times Square a long time ago and I'm so glad I finally got to use it.
I will definitely be doing more paisley inspired variations! The possibilities are endless with this print!

.

RAWR Shop- Holo Gradient

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!
Today we're taking a break from our regular programming to present to you- FUN FRIDAY!
(it starts with F...so it works....right?)

I'm sure you already know whose hands these are. The one and only- Call It Beauty!
Every time she comes over, we always end up spending hours on end on her nails...but today was a quick one.
We used Color Club- Fashion Addict: a lilac holographic polish, and a rich purple Sinful Colors- Let's Talk.

But of course, you cannot wear holo on your nails and NOT play in the sun!

So while shouting off the top of our lungs to Spice Girls this happened:

Never a dull moment with Dani @ Call It Beauty! I'm so glad I have a friend I can be silly with <3
Here a final shot of the mani. Enjoy.

RAWR Shop- Ultimate Star Wars Nails

Hi guys!!
Today I am very excited to show you the mani I did at The RAWR Shop

This is Donna's second visit. We wanted to do something completely crazy this time...
She mentioned that she is currently into Star Wars: The Old Republic, so I thought....Let's do Star Wars nails!!
...now...
My knowledge of Star Wars goes as far as lightsabers and R2D2....
So I studied hard, and with the help of expert Donna, we achieved this awesome-tastic mani!

Basically, this is split into two empires....
The Imperials (bad guys) and Republic (good guys)

"But Winnie...who is who?!" You ask. Fear not, my loves! Read on!!

The Imperials include: Droids, Siths,Storm Troopers...

Republics: Wookies, Jedi's, R2D2

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Donna has the cutest nails.
Putting this much detail on a tiny nail was not easy...but MAN! Do they ever look good.

Here are some of my personal favourites....

That's it for me today!!
Hope you enjoyed this Star Wars mani :)

Thanks for letting me put these on you, Donna!! Come back soon!!!

Have a great day, lovelies!!

All Wrapped Up

Happy hump day, lovely people of the world!!
Today I have a summer mani for you.

For this mani, I used the following:

China Glaze- For Audrey
NYC- Peaches N' Cream

First, I wrapped the For Audrey filled claws with Peaches N' Cream
NYC polishes come with great brushes, they're perfect for drawing blunt lines like this!
This distinctive peachy creme colour is packed with sophisticated fun!
It is the perfect colour for summer, in my opinion.

I've been having a heck of a time trying to draw thinner lines...then it dawned on me that maybe I should trim down my brush....gee it only took me forever to figure this out....
-___-

You can see the difference immediately between the two brushes!
Now I just have to work on drawing cleaner, and straighter lines.....YAY!!!!

Hope you enjoyed this mani as much as I did doing it!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

PS.
I was contacted by Nail Polish Canada to spread the word about their giveaway...and because sharing is caring, here it is! I'm sure you've seen this many-a-times already. But just in case you haven't :
