RAWR Shop- Kitty Tribal

Hello lovers!!
I hope everyone's been doing well! You should know that I've been thinking about you everyday.
Today I have a set of RAWR SHOP claws to show you!

Thanks to the power of social networking, Kira and I connected via Twitter.
She was looking for something fierce on her tips and I'm so grateful that she picked me to make it happen!

This is a full GEL set done with Amore products and nail art painted on afterwards.
Kira came up with the concept of her claws. I am very much in love with this.

We used China Glaze's Kalahari Kiss as base, and various neon pastels for colour accents.
Then on the ring fingers, we incorporated what matters most to her-- CATS
I couldn't stop staring at the kittehs!

...while we were making this happen, someone was supervising....

This took us into the wee hours of the night...but OH MY GAWSH it was so worth it!!
then it just so happened that she wore her RAWR shirt last night :D

Thanks again for letting me do your nails, love!
Hope you enjoy them CLAWS!!

Have a wonderful day, people!

Emerald Ikat

Hello beautifuls!
Last week, Brittney from Precious Polish came up with an excellent idea to do a group post on this year's trend according to Pantone: Emerald!

I personally do not think this colour compliments my anything...so naturally it was challenging coming up with something...went through my stash, and here's what I found:

More so turquoise than anything, it looks like...haha!
SO what's a girl to do? I decided to mix two polishes together:

China Glaze- Turned Up Turquoise
Cometic Arts- no name

I sponged them on as gradients, and the colour came out subtle but fitting to the theme!
Also, I developed a new obsession with glitters....I'm not sure what took me so long....but I bought these:

Look at them....it's like a party on your finger nails....
:D

Anyhoo...as you can already see...this mani didn't photograph as well as I had hoped...I have no idea why...but these Ikats are IMPOSSIBLE to photograph...maybe I just need better picture taking skills

But you guys! Believe me when I say this: this print looks absolutely amazing in real life...
so very sophisticated in my opinion.

That's all for me today, hope you enjoyed my Emerald Ikat mani!

As you know, I haven't been blogging much since Nail School started.
But fear not! Today I have for you-- life update!!
:D

We learned how to do gel sets in school, so here are a couple of gel sets I have done:

Here are some mani's I have failed to blog about....(I'm SORRY!)
 Wore this to a wedding.

and this to BF's work Christmas party

It was Alexis Leigh's 1 year bloggaversary last week and I did a guest post!
So make sure you head on over to wish her blog a Happy Birthday!

*NOW*
...on to some MOAR news....

On December 27th, I was named 2012's Best Self Taught Nail Artist on Jezebel.
I couldn't believe it when I found out...and I may or may not have done this stupid crazy dance of joy and tripped and rolled on my ankle then cried a little.

So here's my acceptance speech:
I am humbled and extremely honoured to be even mentioned in this article, as many of the nail artists I look up to are also featured. I want to express my gratitude to those who helped me every step of the way...
Without you, I'd just be this crazy person that likes to put crazy things on her nails.
Thank you to all you wonderful readers of The RAWR Shop for your continuous support.
Thank you to all that gave me the opportunity to express my weird self.
The blogging community is so amazing, the love that's flowing around here in cyberspace is unbelievable.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

*PHEW*
But wait, there's more!

Over the Christmas break, I collaborated with a team of talented people. We came up with 3 looks and here is a sneak peek of one of the looks we did:
